My Expertise

I have been working in the field of special education since 1995 with a primary focus in applied behavior analysis, positive behavior supports, inclusive education, autism spectrum disorders, problem behaviors and family advocacy. 

My Past Work Experiences

Lecturer/Instructor for graduate programs at Arizona State University and Northern Arizona University.

  • I was the lead instructor for courses that focused on applied behavior analysis, positive behavior supports, special education, early childhood education and family studies.  

Consultant and Supervisor for the HOPE Group in Arizona.

  • My responsibilities included working with individuals on the autism spectrum and other developmental disabilities, supervision of prospective BCBA's, ABA home program development, client assessments, program training, parent advocacy, school observations and supports, and attending IEP meetings. 

Special Education Teacher for Washoe County School District in Reno, Nevada and Scottsdale Unified School District in Scottsdale, Arizona.

  • During this experience I taught in self-contained/transitional classrooms for children on the autism spectrum and other disabilities. 

Aside from my experience in the field, I also have the privilege of raising my own child who has cognitive, behavioral, physical and medical needs. This privilege has provided me with more education than the above experiences combined and gives me a unique insight into the field.​
